Log Cabin Quilt – Free Pattern

Hey loves, nice to see you here again. We are very grateful to know that you remember us when it comes to learning. We seek to bring complete patterns to help you throughout the project and, whenever you need it, we are here to help you too. Shall we quilt? The Log Cabin Quilt is another model for you to learn. This quilt is formed from blocks, assembled with straps.

Yes, simple as that. It may take a little more work because the strips are thinner, but in the end, all the work pays off. Mixing colors and prints, we were able to make different blocks, which complete each other when sewn together. Keep in mind that the log cabin design is open to any number of variations. You can follow this tutorial and make little 4” blocks or get creative and change the size of the center squares, and the size and number of strips.

Quilts like this are a great opportunity to reuse scraps of fabric left over from other projects. Having a predominant tone in the prints, you can make several blocks and assemble the quilt in the same way. Often, because they are thinner stripes, it is more difficult to keep them straight for sewing. So “waste some time” ironing each one, ironing after sewing on the block as well.

Your seam will be straighter and it will be easier to sew, believe our tip. Another tip that can change your entire quilt is when putting the blocks together. You can form them as if they were stars or leave the highlight for the center of the blocks. To be more prominent, you may notice that a light color, white, light prints and a more colorful one were chosen.

This contrast that highlights the shape and final design of the quilt, can you see it? Details like this make all the difference and only with practice, seeing new models that we learn all this.
